Alzheimer Community Care Center Groundbreaking

Mayor Greg Oravec welcomed a crowd of more than 80 people to the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Alzheimer Community Care Center being built at Grace Lutheran Church on Cashmere Blvd. in St. Lucie West. Mayor Oravec expressed his gratitude to Board Members from Alzheimer Community Care and the church for their partnership and working together to make the specialized day care center for seniors living with Alzheimers a reality.

Pastor Chris Escher recognized several dignitaries in the audience and served as the master of ceremonies for the event. St. Lucie County Commissioner Linda Bartz spoke to the crowd about the process and levels of cooperation it took from multiple organizations to bring the Care Center to Port St. Lucie.

Others recognized during the event for their contributions and support included Project Benefactor Gene Pranzo, Trustee for the Leo & Anne Albert Charitable Trust Greg Walton, President of the Florida Georgia District Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Ed Bock, Caregiver and Church Representative and Robert J Gorman, Chair of the Board of Directors, Alzheimers Community Care, Inc.

Once the speakers completed their portion of the ceremony, the crowd and dignitaries moved to a row of gold painted shovels and hard hats. Cameras were flashing in rapid fashion as the dignitaries lined up behind the shovels, put the hard hats on and plunged the shovels into the dirt. Different groups involved in the project followed for additional photos.
