What We Aim To Solve
ADAKC responds to four significant health needs: Access to health care, Alzheimers disease, chronic disease and mental health. Rising costs of care and uncovered benefits reduce access to specialized health care for seniors and their care providers, specifically non-medical social services . Alzheimers disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States, the third leading cause of death in California. These two populations are at risk of isolation, failure to thrive, physical and mental health issues. The most significant health risks include depression, anxiety, high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes. The CDC lists Alzhiemers as the most unrecognized threat to the public in the 21st century. ADAKC will respond to the caregivers needs by receiving comprehensive emotional and social support through support groups, educational classes, quality respite care and crisis counseling.
