Jack Nicholson ‘retires From Acting Due To Memory Loss’

Bulworth (2/5) Movie CLIP – Bulworth Raps (1998) HD

Reports claim that Jack Nicholson has retired from acting due to memory loss. Radar Online and Star Magazine say the 76-year-old, three-time Oscar-winner is no longer considering scripts, though he will continue to play an active role in public life.

“There is a simple reason behind his decision it’s memory loss,” a source told Radar. “Quite frankly, at 76, Jack has memory issues and can no longer remember the lines being asked of him.”

Nicholson has not been seen on the big screen since 2010, when he played the father of a business executive facing jail over alleged corporate malfeasance in the Reese Witherspoon and Paul Rudd romantic comedy drama How Do You Know. His only other acting role since turning 70 has been 2007’s The Bucket List, and he currently has no films on his slate.

As well as best actor Oscars for 1975’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, 1998’s As Good As It Gets and the best supporting actor prize for 1984’s Terms of Endearment, Nicholson holds the record for the highest number of Oscar nominations for a male actor: 12. According to US reports, he will continue to appear at the annual awards ceremony if invited as a guest presenter of prizes, as he did earlier this year when handing over the best picture gong with Michelle Obama, and will likely be courtside on a regular basis to watch his beloved LA Lakers basketball team.

Neither Nicholson nor his representatives have so far made any public comment on the reports of his retirement.

Warren Beatty In Reds

The actor-director took on another major motion picture event with Reds in 1981, an epic about the American Communist movement inspired by a true story. Beatty played journalist John Reed, and cast his real-life girlfriend Diane Keaton as his onscreen love interest.

The drama was nominated for a whopping 12 Oscars at the 1982 Academy Awards. The Hollywood legend was again nominated for four prestigious prizes Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Screenplay becoming the only person to do so twice.

Scrawny Senior Warren Beatty Sparks Health Fears

There isnt much to this report. In all honesty, the magazine could have been brief and simply wrote, Warren Beatty is getting older. Its no surprise Beatty doesnt look the same way he did in the 60s. That being said, theres absolutely nothing concerning about his appearance now from what we can tell, he looks healthy and happy. Besides, its clear he feels well enough to attend major events like the recent gala.

Its obvious the tabloid just wanted to shame the actor for getting older. But at 84, who can blame Beatty for not working as much? And the tabloids are never going to learn that you cant tell anything about a persons health from their weight alone. So, without any genuine information to suggest Beattys health is at risk, its only insulting to predict hes near death. We have no idea what the future holds for Beatty, but neither does the tabloid.

Channeling Her Star Power

âIâve been put into the public eye because of my craft, which has given me the ability to shine a spotlight on issues,â Bening says. âItâs a great luxury and honor to be able to do that. I try to do it judiciously.â

Supporting fundraising efforts over the years for breast cancer research is one such judicious choice. âWe all have friends, relatives, and people close to us who have gone through breast cancer. Thatâs certainly the case for me,â she says. âAll of the issues around womenâs health and reproductive rights are ones I feel very strongly about.â

Family planning — when and whether to have children, having a safe pregnancy and birth, and receiving good postnatal care — is central to reproductive health, yet this umbrella term covers a wide range of health issues that can affect both genders. According to the National Institutes of Health, reproductive health refers to the diseases, disorders, and conditions that affect the male and female reproductive systems during all stages of life. They include the diagnosis and treatment of birth defects, developmental disorders, low birth weight, preterm birth, reduced fertility, impotence, menstrual disorders, vaccinations, sexually transmitted diseases, patient education, LGBTQ services, and more.

âReproductive health is a very important thing for us all to stand up for — not just women, but men, too,â she says.

Why Hollywood Won’t Cast Warren Beatty Anymore

Warren Beatty is among the handful of living actors we could call a screen legend. The man born Henry Beaty has been a silver-screen idol for more than 50 years, starring in classic movies such as Bonnie and Clyde, Shampoo, Bugsy, Heaven Can Wait, Dick Tracy, and more. He’s also a writer, director, and producer, notably wearing all of those hats to make the 1981 epic Reds, which somehow won a slew of Oscars despite being a sympathetic story about Communism released at the peak of the Cold War.

Beatty consistently made and starred in films up through the late ’90s, but his output started to slow a bit after the 1998 release of Bulworth. He’s a family man now, putting aside his legendaryshowbiz Casanovastatus in 1992 to and raise four kids. Here are a few reasons why it seems like Hollywood won’t cast Warren Beatty anymore.

Warren Beatty Meets Annette Bening

“Bugsy” (1991) Main Title Sequence HQ

The famous bachelor crossed paths with Annette Bening after casting her as his love interest in Bugsy, the 1991 crime drama which saw him star as mobster Bugsy Siegel.

“He was incredibly intelligent,” Bening recently told PEOPLE of their first meeting. “I remember thinking this guy is so smart and so sharp and funny and he was charming for sure.”

Meanwhile, Beatty came back from their first lunch together and told Bugsy director Barry Levinson: “I’m going to marry her.”

Transgender Son Of Warren Beatty Annette Bening Slams Chaz Bono

Son of Warren Beatty and Annette Bening slams trans star as ‘misogynist.’

Nov. 21, 2011 — In a war of words in the struggle to “demolish transphobia,” 20-year-old Stephen Ira Beatty has blasted “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Chaz Bono, calling the transgender son of Cher a “a misogynist who does not represent us.”

Beatty describes himself in his blog as “a gay trans man for whom both identities are important.”He is also the son of Hollywood actors Annette Bening and Warren Beatty. Born Kathlyn, he is the oldest of the couple’s four children.

His mother played the lesbian mom “Nic” in the award-winning 2010 movie, “The Kids Are Alright.” The film depicts two teens struggling with their identities. His father, the Oscar-winning director of “Reds,” was a longtime Hollywood lothario before setting down and marrying Bening.

Stephen Ira Beatty slams Bono for saying that transgenderism is “a birth defect, like a cleft palate,” and that “being male and having breasts is about the worst thing I could imagine.” He attacks Bono for saying, “I never understood women before . . . but I had a tolerance for women that I don’t have now . . . There is something in testosterone that makes talking and gossiping really grating.”

Beatty, who says he has undergone hormonal treatment, responded, “I don’t want any rich white trans guy . . . telling the media that testosterone made him a misogynist . . . he has some deep-seated misogyny to work through.”

The Tabloid On Older Celebrities

The National Enquirer just wont let actors age in peace. Not too long ago, the tabloid claimed Beattys sister, Shirley MacLaine, was shriveled and unrecognizable. The outlet also predicted last year that Queen Elizabeth was given months to live. Then the magazine reported Robert Wagner was fading fast. The outlet even alleged Chevy Chase only had six months to live. Since all of these celebrities were perfectly fine, its clear the tabloid cant be trusted to report accurately on senior celebrities.

Warren Beatty Receives A Lifetime Achievement Award

Beatty accepted an honor of his own in 2008, receiving the lifetime achievement award from the American Film Institute.

“Warren Beatty helped reshape Hollywood when it was time for a change,” the AFI said in a tribute. “With his restless energy, he stretched the definition of actor to become one of the first multi-hyphenates: a magnetic movie star, a brilliant producer, a driven director and a writer who aspires to reflect the times in which we live.”

Russell Chatham, famous landscape painter, dies at 80

After 30 years of marriage, Annette Bening and Warren Beatty are still as in love as ever.

The American Beauty star, 63, stopped by the Kelly Clarkson Show earlier this week alongside her Death on the Nile director and co-star, Kenneth Branagh.

The pair discussed each of their plans for Valentines Day and shared special traditions they have for the romantic holiday.

Bening told host Kelly Clarkson that she and Beatty, 84, like to keep the holiday simple.

Its pretty no-pressure, she said. Valentines is pretty low-key. He will generally make me like a little Valentine with just a little red felt pen and make a little heart. Hes very economical in his message.

The Captain Marvel star continued, Theres nothing to buy for him. Hes one of those men, you cannot find anything that he . . . So, no, its usually something small its a little note, its a flower, yeah.

As for Branagh, 61, he has been married to his wife Lindsay Brunnock for 18 years. He jokingly revealed to Clarkson that he does bad poetry for Brunnock and her eyes roll over on Valentines Day morning.

Beatty and Bening have been married since 1992 and have four kids together Stephen, 30, Ben, 27, Isabel, 25, and Ella, 21. Their oldest child came out as transgender in 2012.

Bening dished to People earlier this month about her relationship with the Rules Dont Apply director. She explained that her first impression of the Oscar winner was that he was incredibly intelligent.

Warren Beatty Stars In Bonnie And Clyde

At age 29, Beatty became a producing force with the violent, glamorous gangster saga Bonnie and Clyde, released in 1967. Beatty oversaw production with director Arthur Penn, and acted opposite Faye Dunaway as infamous bank robbers Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker.

Both a critical and commercial success, the movie became a landmark picture and sent its stars into a new echelon of fame.

He’s Getting Long In The Tooth

Despite the popularity of Blue Bloods and Grace and Frankie, Hollywood is still a young person’s game movies and TV series almost always feature young faces playing young characters, and those older, more established actors slowly fade from view. Take Warren Beatty, for example. In 2018, the Oscar-winner turned 81-years-old. Unless Hollywood starts making a ton of films about dudes in their eighties, the movie business just doesn’t have a place for him. That’s sad, but true.

On the other hand, people in all kinds of professions retire in their sixties or seventies so as to enjoy their golden years doing something other than working. Beatty has earned the chance to slow down or even stop working in showbiz. He doesn’t have anything to prove. He’s got a big family, and he’s amassed a fortune. He’s slowing down, and that’s perfectly expected.

But on the other other hand, Beatty is still making the Hollywood rounds, such as mis-presenting an Oscar to the makers of La La Land at the 2017 Academy Awards and then getting a do-over and correctly giving a best picture trophy to the team behind The Shape of Water at the 2018 Oscars. Also, let’s not forget that he directed a movie as recently as 2016, so if there’s a project out there that Warren Beatty is interested in, clearly he’s going to pursue it. And we’ll be paying attention.

The young actor was quickly cast in a number of films after his big break, and turned to his sister for support. Here, the siblings attend a movie premiere in 1966 in Los Angeles.

“I was lucky to grow up with a feminist mother and a feminist sister. We’re very close,” he previously told PEOPLE of his relationship with MacLaine.

Warren Beatty Follows His Heart

Beatty enrolled at Northwestern University in 1955 and dropped out after a year to study acting in New York City, where his older sister’s star was rising, per Biography.com. He bounced between TV appearances while working odd jobs, and made his Broadway debut in 1959 with A Loss of Roses.

According to the outlet, the play received “underwhelming reviews” but earned him a Tony nomination and put him on the map.

Warren Beatty Turns The Corner

This week, the National Enquirer reports Warren Beatty is looking rough. The 84-year-old film star recently attended the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures opening gala with his wife, Annette Bening, and the magazine insists Beatty looked more codger than Casanova. The star apparently cut a much slimmer figure than was expected, leading many to wonder if the actor is in good health.

His hands looked withered, bony, and veiny, and his posture was stooped. It looked as if he was having a hard time standing up and getting around, an insider reveals. Beatty hasnt been seen on screen since 2016, making fans wonder if hes settled into an unofficial retirement. But one tipster suggests, Old age has caught up with him.

He Just Kept Saying No To Good Movies

While Hollywood hasn’t cast Warren Beatty in many movies over the last few decades, that doesn’t mean Hollywood isn’t interested in him. Maybe filmmakers just got tired of asking him because he turned them down too many times.

In 2016, Beatty revealed on the podcast Happy Sad Confused , that Superman producers “came to first” for the lead role, but he passed. Other iconic parts which Beatty declined: adult film producer Jack Horner in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Boogie Nights and Bill in Quentin Tarantino’s two-part Kill Bill Beatty also turned down the chance to portray President Richard Nixon twice in Oliver Stone’s Nixon and Ron Howard’s Frost/Nixon. Beatty told Vanity Fair, that he said no to both films because “Nixon was not treated compassionately.”

Perhaps even worse: In the late ’60s, Paramount chief Charlie Bluhdorn offered Beatty the chance to make the film version of a novel about an Italian-American family. “He said I could do whatever I wanted, produce, write it, direct,” Beatty recalled on Happy Sad Confused. “I read the galleys, and I said, ‘Charlie, there’s no movie here.'” Francis Ford Coppola got the chance to direct instead, and that movie was a little something called The Godfather.

Warren Beatty sure can’t pick ’em!

Acceptance Was Hard For Stephen Ira Beatty

Britt Ekland admits

“He’s publicly out as a gay man and trans to everyone who knows him personally,” he said. “He has certain ideas especially that people have gender roles and how people should be and what society dictates, and he goes against that.”

The Beattys have three other children: Benjamin, 16 Isabel, 14 and Ella, 11. They attend Buckley, the Sherman Oaks private school where Stephen had a particularly hard time until he transferred to the more accepting Arete Preparatory Academy in Los Angeles, according to Schiffer.

Buckley is a traditional school that caters to more of the “Beverly Hills 90210” crowd, according to his friend. Celebrity children like Kimberly Stewart, daughter of Rod, and Paris and Nicky Hilton are alumni. Arete caters to gifted children and those who don’t fit into a conventional setting, he said.

During his high school years, Beatty’s classmates supported him “150 percent,” said Schiffer, but he still had some social issues.

“The hardest thing that I observed was getting people to accept him for who he is,”Schiffer said.

Transgender youth face high levels of victimization in school, even more so than their lesbian, gay and bisexual peers, according to recent studies.

“He loves Stephen and has not threatened to kick him out of the house,” said Schiffer. “They’ve had their problems, but he’s a good guy.”

GLSEN Director of Communications Daryl Presgraves said the fact that Beatty is the son of famous parents offers “hope to other youth.”
