Just because Kenny spends much of his time laying on beaches, it doesnt mean hes totally carefree. You may be surprised to hear that Kenny is actually very strict about his diet while on tour, that is. During his off-season, its a different story. Kenny says that during tours he keeps fit by eating a diet that includes a large amount of chicken and veggies. When its off-season time, Kenny doesnt think twice before grabbing a bag of Pringles off the snack shelf.

A Sons Tribute To His Father

The tribute video was almost like a carpool karaoke between a father and his son. They were on their car going somewhere and Kenny Chesneys song was playing on the background. The son was mouthing the words but you can see the sadness in his eyes as he realized that his father may not be the same again.

It was such a sweet and inspiring video because the son is captured in his sweet moments with his father. The video showed that he is a supportive and loving son and that no matter what happens, he will always stay by his fathers side.

Our parents have sacrificed so much for us and it is only right that we give back the same amount of love that they gave us. However, time is not something that we can control so we should take every moment to thank them and show them our love. Just like in this video, the son spent his time to really bond with his parents especially with his father.

This Kenny Chesney track is a perfect song to remind us that we must treasure each moment with our parents. They may forget us due to their illness but this does not change the fact that they raised us into who we are today. Now go and hug your parents, tell them those three sweet words.

While He Still Knows Who I Am Is Beautiful And Heart Wrenching But Does It Send The Right Message About Love And Connection

Kenny Chesneys song While He Still Knows Who I Am is about love, connection and re-discovering a father-son relationship. It made me cry. It may make you cry as well.

But does it send the right message about people who live with dementia, and when and how family and friends should love and connect with them? I dont think so.

The title and lyrics infer the son is going to visit his dad while the father still knows who the son is. But what happens when father no longer recognizes son? Will the son then not go to visit? Thats the implication.

I was so saddened by the inference that I wrote an open letter to Kenny Chesney asking him to write another song one that encourages friends and family members to visit people with dementia especially when those people dont recognize them anymore.

I wonder if he will.

Involved In A Kanye And 50 Cent Dispute

If youre familiar with Kanye West and 50 Cent, youll know that these two huge hip-hop stars are always in a contest with one other. In 2007, the two rappers decided to hold a public competition to see whose newly released album would sell more. Taking a risk, 50 Cent vowed to retire if Kanye came out on top. Just as things were heated enough, Kenny got involved in the trash talk and announced that he was also releasing a new album that same day. Unfortunately, Chesney made it in third place, with Kanye in first.

We havent heard too much about Kennys dating life, and this may be because of how his previous short marriage was ridiculed in the media. He did, however, bring along a gorgeous brunette date at the American Countdown Awards. Her name is Mary Nolan and we dont know much about her, besides the fact that she is Kennys current lover.

Many Hospitalized In Tailgate Fiasco

Kenny Chesneys concerts are always held in big stadiums and often sell out. The pre-show tailgates that go down at the stadiums are an exciting scene, which see thousands of hyper-alive fans getting pumped for the upcoming show. Unfortunately, in 2016 at a Pittsburgh concert, the excitement went too far and as a result of an overly rowdy crowd and intoxication, 25 hospitalizations occurred along with several arrests. Similarly, at a 2013 concert, 73 people were arrested and 30 tons of trash were left behind in the parking lot.

Known as country music’s Rhinestone Cowboy, Glen Campbell spent five decades in the music business and won both a Grammy Hall of Fame and Lifetime Achievement Award.

In 2011, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. This poignant autobiographical song from 2014 tugs at the heartstrings as it fittingly describes his receding memory: “I’m still here, but yet I’m gone.“

Unfortunately, the singer’s family was embroiled in internal battles over his care as he faced the end stages of the disease living in a memory care facility. Although an internet hoax reported his death in May 2017, he actually died in August 2017.

Not wanting to give in to the reality that his father is going downhill as a result of his battle with dementia, the man in this 2016 country song tells the doctor that he will remember for him. He sees his dad the way he used to be, even as changes have taken their heartwrenching toll:

Kenny Chesney Joins Music And Memory Program To Help Alzheimers Patients

Kenny Chesney has joined a campaign to supply people suffering from Alzheimer’s with portable music players in an effort to tap deep memories and make life more enjoyable.

Music and Memory is a non-profit that’s working to collect iPods and other digital music players and to distribute them to seniors with dementia.

Music has been found to connect people to memories and allow them to open up to those who love them. Sometimes, the response is immediate and shocking. A video at the Music and Memory website shows Henry, a patient who says little and spends most of his day resting his head on his wheelchair, springing to life, singing Cab Calloway songs and telling stories of his childhood.

Chesney recorded a PSA for Music and Memory. He urges his fans to donate money or a music player to the non-profit. Each player is personalized with the help of family to include songs that were favorites of their loved ones. The end result can be that Alzheimer’s disease patients feel like themselves again, come out of their shell and even socialize.

Kenny and Mary have been together since 2012. Unfortunately, there is not a lot about their relationship that people know. The two often keep their personal life away from the spotlight and continue to do the same.

Chesney released his fourteenth studio album, Welcome to the Fishbowl, on June 19, 2012. Its lead-off single, a Tim McGraw duet titled “Feel Like a Rock Star“, debuted at number 13 on the country charts, making it the second-highest debuting country song since the Billboard charts were first tabulated via Nielsen SoundScan, and the highest-debuting duet on that chart. Despite its high debut, the song peaked at number 11 only six weeks later before falling.

BNA Records closed in June 2012. As a result, Chesney was transferred to Columbia Nashville. His first release under Columbia was the album’s second single, “Come Over“, which went to number 1. After being shot seven times, Dorman ended up in the hospital and missed out on the Kenny Chesney concert he planned on attending that night. He got carried away when he said the officer had passed, but later made it up by apologizing to the officer and inviting him for a beer.

She forgets to eat, makes lewd comments that would shame most grown men, and suspects that someone is stealing from her, planning against her, or both.

My cousin and I were befuddled when Granny “introduced” us to one another recently. We clearly knew one another, but did she? Dementia can be difficult on families as well as the person diagnosed.

If your family is struggling with a dementia diagnosis, consider making a playlist of these pop, rock, and country songs that pay tribute to patients with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia as well as the families who support them in their journey. Many of these songs exhibit great empathy. Take comfort in knowing that you are not alone in this struggle.

As a young boy, Kenny admired Tennessee stars and wondered if anything existed beyond the country line. He was already dreaming big and his life took a turn when he received his first guitar on Christmas Day. He named it, Terminor and taught himself how to play. The guitar changed his life dramatically, shifting his career focus from sports to music. With Terminor by his side, Kenny was able to embark on a musical adventure, playing as a resident musician at local clubs.

Music is not something Kenny or anyone can produce with the snap of a finger. Lyrics need to be inspired and the mood must be perfect for a beautiful piece of music to come to life. Remembering Kenny and Tim McGraws wild horse fiasco is naturally the first thing we think of when we hear these two epic names, but there are actually many other things to remember about this country duo. For one, remember the time when the two embarked on a co-headlining tour together? Brothers of the Sun Tour saw Chesney and McGraw join forces once again, touring 22 venues in over two dozen cities. The tour grossed $96 million in ticket sales and hosted over a million people at each show.

Signing First Publishing And Record Deals

In 1992, the head of writer relations at BMI, Clay Bradley, recommended Chesney to his friend, Troy Tomlinson, at Opryland Music Group by saying: “I met this kid today from East Tennessee. He’s a good singer, a good songwriter, and more than anything, I think you’re going to really like him as a person.” Chesney performed five songs during his audition for Tomlinson. Tomlinson’s reaction was enthusiastic, later telling HitQuarters:

First of all I was attracted to the songs, because I thought that he painted great pictures in his lyrics, particularly for someone who had not been around the typical Music Row co-writes. I thought that he sang very well too. But more than anything there was a kind of this ‘I-will-do-it’ look in his eyes â I was really drawn in by the fact that he was so set on being successful in this business.

Chesney left the audition with a songwriter’s contract. A year later, an appearance at a songwriter’s showcase led to a contract with Capricorn Records, which had recently started a country division.
